155Mbps 1550nm-TX/1310nm-RX 80km BiDi SFP Optical Transceiver Module for Fast Ethernet/SDH STM-1/SONET OC-3 Optcore’s OPB155-5380xCR is a small form factor pluggable (SFP) bi-directional (BiDi) transceiver module for ultra long reach duplex optical data communications such as Fast Ethernet and 155Mbps SDH STM-1/SONET OC-3. This BiDi SFP module provides 80km transmission distance over a single strand of single-mode fiber. Compared with commonly used dual fiber SFP modules, this bi-directional (BiDi) transceiver allows end users to reduce the total cost on fiber cabling infrastructure by requiring half of the fiber cables, providing increased transmission capacity very convenient without installing new fibers. The transmitter section uses a 1550nm DFB laser that is a class 1 laser compliant according to International Safety Standard IEC 60825. The receiver section uses a high-speed 1310nm InGaAs PIN photodiode (PD) integrated with a trans-impedance preamplifier (TIA). The module is fully compliant with the SFP Multi-Sourcing Agreement (MSA) and SFF-8472. For further information, please see SFP MSA and SFF-8472 standard. An OPB155-5380xCR is always connected with an OPB155-3580xCR with a single fiber.
