It provides a 20km transmission distance over single-mode fiber at a nominal wavelength of 1310nm. It has been programmed and tested to work with a wide range of Cisco industrial switches and routers. It performs identically to Cisco part number ONS-SI-2G-I1, allowing it to be an ideally equivalent to original transceivers.
