They are prepared according to the formulation prescribed by Pema Karpo, the great yogi of the Drukpa Kagyu lineage. It is hand manufactured with the utmost care and strict compliance with an age-old traditional method and natural ingredients.Many of these ingredients grow at more than 4000 m in the Himalayas. It was a government-owned unit until the early 1990s. When the Royal Government started privatising organizations, the unit started commercialising its products. This family business is now providing employment for 15 poor, uneducated, and underprivileged people. They work closely with the Community Based Sustainable Management of Medicinal Plants Project that educates collectors on the sustainable collection and cultivation of the natural products that they use.
