It is made in strict accordance with the Buddhist practice texts.This incense is crafted by the famous Bhutanese factory “Nado Poizokhang” – one of the leading incense makers in Bhutan. “Nado” products are famous for the purity of ingredients used and the careful preparation process. It is one of the oldest and the largest hand-made incense manufacturers in Bhutan.Many of these ingredients grow at more than 4000 m in the Himalayas. It was a government-owned unit until the early 1990s. When the Royal Government started privatising organisations, the unit started to commercialise its products. This family business is now providing employment for 15 poor, uneducated, and underprivileged people. They work closely with the Community Based Sustainable Management of Medicinal Plants Project that educates collectors on the sustainable collection and cultivation of the natural products that they use.
